Hell-O!!
You know life is definitely OVER when you walk out of an examination room, all sad and disappointed, trying to look for someone you can confide in, when all you see is a crowd of smiling faces and friends who giggle nonchalantly, insensitively. Suicide moment? Tell me about it. I was looking forward for the weekend, when that happened to me exactly, on Friday. After my Business forEngineering paper.
That aside, you know a great day (or half a day, at least) was about to begin when you texted your girlfriend, whining about the paper and all she replied was "macaroon?!". All set, we were to meet at Harrods at 3pm. I still had lecture after the exam, but decided to go for something more interesting than Thermodynamics.
By now, you've probably noticed that it's not Ika writing here. She doesn't take engineering business paper, for god's sake, let alone Thermo. Guess who's in the house now?!! Hahaha. She's busy preparing for her next paper, and I'm busy updating her blog. Weird? I am SO the kind of friend you'd want to belanja dinner *wink, wink*
Anyway, Harrods has never been kind to any of us. Although we really enjoy getting lost in there - and suddenly appear in the shoe hall, drooling over the gorgeous Louboutin 4-inch heels and the cutest ever Salvatore Ferragamo flats - but our grumpy tummies told otherwise on that day. After about half an hour of a fruitless attempt to look for the food, we finally resorted to asking the guard. and Walla..!!! We found it..!! within 2 minutes.
It's called Laduree.
It's French and I love it..!
Well, it may not be the shop you go to for lunch or dinner everyday, but you'd feel there was something different the moment you step into the patisserie ; The decor was just mesmerizing. Tres bien!
They've got trinkets and decorations immaculately arranged for display. The waitresses are wearing a classic dress to remind us all of the traditional French lady (now boys, take the naughty French maid image off your mind).
The atmosphere, the air, the company was.. parfait.
We had macaroons, pain, tea and chocolat chaud. Ok2, I should stop using Ika's blog to practise my French. Anyhow, I would really recommend Pistachio flavoured macaroons to anyone who wants to try it for the first time. I went over the moon on the first bite, no kidding. I've had a few other flavours, but nothing beats this! and Oh, Ika loveeess her eclair, although it's a bit too rich and sweet. Ouh2...and nothing beats a pot of pure English Tea to compliment the sweetness of the macaroons. The perks of living in the "Country of Tea" =D .
Here are some pictures for you chicas and chicos to enjoy!!! Oh, the place was a No-picture zone. But what the heck right?
That's all for now.
I will ABSOLUTELY write here again. (RIGHT?=p)
Good to the bye!
